What do Homeopathy and Passover have in common?

April 11, 2017

Passover, celebrated this week,  is the major Jewish Spring festival that commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery.

Homeopathic medicine is also celebrated this week as Homeopathy Awareness Week.

What do homeopathy and Passover have in common?

They both commemorate liberation from slavery.

For the Jewish people, they were enslaved by the Egyptian rulers of their country.

They were not able to be free to practice their religion or the lifestyle of their choice. The burdens placed upon them, the yokes, caused untold suffering.

For those suffering under the burden of dis-ease in body, mind or spirit, homeopathic medicine offers a path to liberation . A release from the torments of illness and a return to the freedom to pursue a healthy life.

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, author of the seminal treatise on homeopathy, "Organon of the Medical Art", describes this liberation as a curative remedy which can bring about a widespread restoration of health to the entire organism - a fundamental change of state that addresses the true root of a patients's disease.  Freedom from suffering.

"In the healthy human state, the spirit like force...that enlivens the material organism as dynamis, governs without restriction and keeps all parts of the organism in admirable, harmonious, vital operation as regards both feeling and functions so that our indwelling, rational spirit can freely avail itself of this living, healthy instrument for the higher purposes of our existence." - S. Hahnemann, Organon of the Medical Art

TIP OF THE WEEK:

Freedom from suffering, whether from external or internal enslavement, can be overcome.

Freedom from the suffering of allergic rhinitis in this Spring season can be accomplished with homeopathic remedies.  Each remedy is selected based upon the unique symptoms of the person with the allergies. A common remedy is Allium Cepa. The characteristic symptoms are allergies with streaming, burning eyes, nose running profusely, with sneezing.

When one's life is compromised with this feeling, you do feel enslaved by it.  Liberation or freedom from suffering in the gentlest manner is the highest ideal for homeopaths.

Dr. Hahnemann explains it in this way:" The highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health; that is, the lifting and annihilation of the disease in its entire extent in the shortest, most reliable, and least disadvantageous way, according to clearly realizable principles. "

This week we commemorate freedom from slavery in all its manifestations, body, mind, emotion, spirit.
